Ginger Tea Recipe
Sweetened Tea, Brewed With Milk, Ginger, and Spices (Chai)
Loose tea from Indian groceries is much stronger than most tea sold in tea bags in this country. If you want a stronger tea, you can use 3 TBS of loose Indian tea and omit the tea bags.
Mix in saucepan:
3 cups water
3 cups whole milk
3 TBS sugar
1 1/2 - 3 TBS grated fresh ginger
1 1/2 teaspoons tea masala*
contents of 9 tea bags
1 TBS loose Indian tea
3 mint leaves (opt.)
Bring to a boil, cover, turn the heat to low, and simmer for about 2 minutes. Strain into a teapot, pitcher, or individual cups
*To make tea masala, mix well together:
3 TBS ginger powder
1/2 TBS clove powder
1/2 TBS black pepper powder
1 TBS cinnamon powder
1 TBS cardamom powder
You can save a batch of tea masala and use it over time - no need to make it fresh each time.

Hiya,
Depends on what type of tea you have...if it is the real Darjeeling then what you need is a kettle. Boil some water and the pour it in a cup so that the cup is hot. Then pour some Drajeeling tea leaves alongside hot water and let it brew....that is real Darjeeling...but real Indian tea is not this as Darjeeling is a Brit leagacy...
Real Indian tea that we drink in dhabas is made with sugar and milk...Ok here we go again.
Put a cup and a half of water in a container, bring it to boil. Add some ginger say 1/4 of an inch, a cardamon, a clove, a stick 1/4 inch of cinnamon and bring it to boil. Add sugar three spoonfulls and let it simmer for about 5 minutes then add milk half a cup would do and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Voici voilà Indian tea.
Bon thé!

You can use cardamom seeds. Boil them with the tea. I personally prefer the indian tea made with fresh ginger root. You boil the water, add the tea and add some slices of fresh ginger root. Add milk and sugar, boil for a little longer and there you have it!

Hey it's really easy.....you have to boil water first....as many cups as you want....if you like sugar add sugar in water...according to your taste.......now also add milk.....or you can add it at the end ........when the mixture of water+milk+sugar is boiling, add tea powder. boil it for 2-3min. your tea is ready. The proportion I use for 1cup tea is:
2/3 cup of water you can adjust the water quantity if you don't like milk much.
1/3 cup of milk
1 1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon tea powder.
you can also add ground ginger or little bit fresh ginger juice to the tea at the end and boil bit longer......that's a ginger tea.........very good for cough n cold.
