Mcdonald's milkshakes in Canada are made with soya milk cause it's cheaper they say.
Anyone that eats any kind of beef is not vegetarian.. if it's just a little then semi-vegetarian is the answer. Tell him to use the word semi with vegetarian or call him a lier when he eats the bag beef! Better yet tell him
he can get fake meat in a foil at the Health food store and boil it!

Well, clearly he is very confused!
If nothing else, please explain to him that having him describe himself as vegetarian and then eat beef, is insulting to true vegetarians and makes it very difficult for those of who really are committed to a vegetarian diet to be taken seriously.
It doesn't matter what form his beef takes, if he eats it, he is not veggie. Simple as that. Maybe ask him to take a look at the Vegetarian Society website so he can see what he is describing himself as. If he doesn't follow the principles there, then he should stop misrepresenting himself.
You may also want to have a read of the website - your statement that McDonalds milkshakes have "cow fat" them - do you mean milk? If so, you will find that vegetarians do drink cow's milk (not all of them, but avoiding dairy is not a necessary part of a standard vegetarian diet).

Vegetarians do not eat Meat, fish, poultry or slaughter by-products.

Thats all he needs to know, its simple.

He can drink milk and call himself a veggie. Whether a veggie would actually want to frequent MCDs is another thing.

Point him to the definition as above, its the gloabally accepted definition. Anything else is just a wannabee causing confusion.

There a millions of veggies in this world that hate what he says, send him to me and i'll discuss it with him, and explain the confusion he causes.

I actually think his kind do vegetarianism more harm that any meat-eater insults.

"used to live in wales" is wrong. People cannot just call themselves veggies because they choose to. Words have a definition for a reason - so we can communicate and understand each other.

If i were to go to Catholic Church every sunday and then claim to my mates I was a buddist would that make any sense at all ? no, of course not.

Are you sure he's a "friend". He seems to have no concept of what words mean.

Wow, he has issues !! If he doesn't want to believe that (wretch) 'boil in the bag beef' is meat and if you have tried to explain then fine. If he is stubborn he won't believe you. I know you care for your friend so maybe direct him to the vegetarian society's websites or send away for pamphlets for him in support of his 'vegetarianism' . He will maybe learn what a vegetarian is and then decide if he really wants to be one. I can see why you are worried about his diet though, it may cause him untold problems in the future. He may think it is tasty but he is making himself ill. Suggest taking him to see a nutritionalist on the premis that vegetarians need to know how to obtain vitamins correctly.

Good luck.

Does she savour advantageous eating as a lot as you do? which will be the important rationalization why she might want to savour this. She will be completely chuffed at those "a lot less strong" eating places. some human beings want the ambience and presentation of a 4 movie star eating position at the same time as others are extra delicate with a more inexpensive position. What you're suggesting sounds very sweet and that i'm effective she might want to like it (if she loved this variety of eating position earlier turning out to be vegetarian). Does she proceed to eat dairy? because if so, really going to strong eating places should not be a difficulty... there are frequently wild mushroom risottos, cream-depending soups, raviolis, and so on. at spectacular eating places. Or at tapas eating places you would possibly want to order various small plates which occur to be vegetarian (dips, salads, olive plates, spiced nuts, and so on.) There are also gourmand vegetarian eating places in maximum important cities, so in case you carry out somewhat learn you would locate some thing you both like. And presently, maximum cooks are expertise and also you'll in many cases call ahead and locate out what the vegetarian recommendations are and ask for a particular dish, or request a change once you're there. in case you want to attempt this, I say bypass for it. My in user-friendly words suggestion is, don't be indignant if she would not love the food. also, this feels like that is largely influenced by technique of your want to eat what you want to eat. So imagine of it that way - as a opt to your self, no longer to her, and do not placed any stress on her to be overly grateful.

vegetarians usually eat no meat but tolerate animal by-products like fats and dairy things. It's vegan's who don't eat meat or animal products. Boil in a bag beef is meat, not good meat but still meat. Direct him to a vegetarian website for some help with his veggie dietry needs.

Macdonald's milkshakes do not have 'cow fat' in them, that's an urban myth. They do have milk in them though, which means they're not vegan.
Your friend is not a vegetarian if he eats beef so tell him if he calls himself a vegetarian then he is disrepecting the choice that genuine vegetarians have made. Tell him from me he needs to grow up.

I think choosing to be a vegetarian is just that, a choice. If he wants to call himself a vegetarian but enjoys boil in the bag beef and MacDonald's milkshakes, that's also his choice. You have told him he what you think he ought to know and understand, but he chooses to carry on with them. I don't know how long he has been a vegetarian, perhaps he has only recently decided to become one, perhaps he still misses the odd bit of meat. Perhaps he likes it! Are there medical reasons why he has given meat up? In that case you would be right to worry about him.
When I read the first part of your question 'help my friend is a vegetarian' I thought you might be worried about him not getting enough nutrients or protein, something like that.
I am guessing you are a vegetarian as I don't think a meat eater would be quite so worried about his eating habits. Personally I am a meat eater and I believe humans have evolved over hundreds of years as omnivores. I agree that some people eat far too much meat and it is not good for their health, but I am a very strong believer in 'everything in moderation.'

I had a friend at uni who made a big effort going on about how she was vegetarian and made big scenes at restaurants if something was cooked in animal fat etc and then.... she used to go to McDonalds when we were out shopping and have a chicken burger!!! she used to say that did not count. It's just madness. I don't really know what you should tell your friend, they will probably just keep doing it in the end I found my friend to be such a drama queen about everything that we didn't stay in touch, but I hope that you get through to him in the end!!

i dont really understand veganism to be honest, i mean our diet almost HAS to consist of proteins from meat and calcium from dairy products, soy and vegtables arent cutting it , its an unstable and unhealthy lifestyle, our bodies are made the way nature made them for a reason, we are made omnivorous because we need BOTH meat and vegetation, all these crazy pita members are running around trying to preserve animal rights and things, and thats nice and all but , do you honestly think for one second that if you try to tell a lion or shark about your human rights , they might not eat you......i doubt it , its the food chain , we are in there diet , they know that , so they will eat us if they have to, i agree that some things done to animals is wrong , like abuse and product testing, and things of that nature, but there is nothing wrong with following natural order, im ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE that if things were the other way around, they would surely eats us too
