You can't give him something you don't have, but your chances for having it are probably high. Most women (80% or so) end up with it at some point, but there are over 100 different strains you could have gotten.
HPV can be dormant in you for years before showing up. Two types cause warts, although not always. Others can cause cancer which is why its important to get a yearly pap test.
Even if you used condom with your ex you could have gotten it from his skin where the condom doesn't cover.
Just get tested even if you don't have symptoms if you're worried. And yes, if you have it, the virus will stay with you forever so if you didn't want to pass it on to anyone, condoms forever would be your best bet. Its a harsh reality, I know.

YES, YES and YES, but the thing to do would be to get tested for STDs before you start having sex with someone else, and I mean both of you get tested, even if they are being honest doesn't mean they might not have already caught one without knowing.

If you've tested negative, you're negative. No need to worry. But, you should use protection until you both test clear for all STDs.

You usually get it from sexual transmission. You can pass it on to your partner. Get treatment and ask your GYN. if after you are treated can transmit it to your partner.

how do you know you dont have it? are you sure? have you been tested? because it may not show up for 2 years. if u dont have it then he wont get it. also if you do have it, condoms dont prevent him catching it, it gets around them.
