Today there are many variatons of the burrito but they hail from ciudad Juarez in Northern Mexico where the only filling is meat and it is rolled fairly thin. It is in the northern region where the burrito is actually widely found in Mexico. In the states its origin is indigenous and not as common as in Mexico.
