I strongly suggest that you go to your doctor. It is the time of year when people are more prone to respiratory infections which can send them to the hospital if not treated promptly. Take care of your self and good luck.

You should have got a doctors appointment during the day sooner and cancelled what ever you was doing, secondly sounds very much like a severe chest infection, i would of said bronchitis but that doesn't usually come with a runny nose so im not too sure, however honey is apparently meant to be really good for that kind of problem, stay at home in bed, get plenty of fluids and rest and get the school to email you any work etc. hope you feel better real soon :D x

Causes

Heart attack. A heart attack almost always causes chest pain. This pain may be mild or severe. Pain from a heart attack does not go away quickly. Rest and medications don’t completely relieve the pain.
Angina. Angina can also cause chest pain. Angina may feel like a heart attack, but it is different. Most angina attacks last about 15 minutes.
Heartburn. Heartburn can cause a burning pain behind your breastbone.
Muscle pain. The muscles and other tissues in the chest wall can become quite painful from strains caused by exercise, a fall, or coughing. Called chest-wall pain, this type of chest pain usually feels worse when you press on the sore area.
Panic attacks. Panic disorder can include chest-pain symptoms such as heart palpitations (a fast, strong, or uneven heartbeat) and shortness of breath. Other symptoms of panic disorder are anxiety and fear of suffocation or dying.
Ulcers and gallbladder disease. Ulcers and gallbladder disease can cause pain that spreads to the chest.
Pulmonary embolism. A pulmonary embolism is a clot blocking the arteries from the heart to the lungs. Risk factors for pulmonary embolism are surgery within the past 6 weeks, wearing a cast, prolonged sitting during airplane and car travel, and conditions that confine you to bed. Symptoms include sudden shortness of breath, sudden chest pain that is worse when you breathe, and sometimes a bloody cough.
Know the Signs of a Heart Attack

Crushing, squeezing, burning feeling in the chest
Feeling of pressure in the chest
Pain that spreads to the jaw, arms, neck, or back
Nausea, vomiting, shortness of breath, sweating
Rest or prescribed drug doesn’t relieve pain
Pain lasts longer than 15 minutes
Pain while you are resting or that wakes you from sleep

Self-Care

Know the signs of a heart attack. If you think you are having a heart attack, call 911 and take an aspirin.
To ease a muscle strain in the chest, take a pain reliever such as acetaminophen. Apply heat and get rest.

Hey there, i suffer from panic attacks and it does feel like your lungs are not filling up with air the way they should sometimes, or it feels like u cannot take deep breaths. if you have been sick and your having chest pain, its your body u know how u feel and u know if somethings wrong. yes u may be panicing a little but i think anyone who feels like they cannot breath would panic lol. if you have never suffored from panic attacks or anxiety before and you feel like thats not what it is, you should see a dr right away. better to be safe than sorry in this case, chest pains are nothing to kid around with :) i hope you feel better. and PS. if you think it could be anxiety, read up on it a little, sometimes just knowing other people are having the same problems helps u out. but like i said if u havent have a problem with it before see a Dr ASAP!

Go to your doctor ASAP, it may be pneumonia or Bronchitis especially if you just got over a cold. In the mean time find something to loosen up the phlegm, cold medicine for chest or something like Benylin with DM- D -E stated on the label. But go see a doctor as soon as your able to.

I have suffered from asthma for years. it is called partial lung collapse. Dont panic! the lung should fill back up on its own. i actually had this problem yesterday. It was hard for me to breath because every time I took a breath it hurt very badly. Research partial lung collapse. that sounds like the problem!

Best of luck!

As someone else suggested, go see a Dr. It might be pneumonia, bronchitis, or pleurisy. Don't run even a couple steps. Get plenty of bed rest and drink fluids.

It sounds more like broncitis or pneumonia. I'd be anxious too if I couldn't breathe. Tell your BF that he needs to take you to a doctor!

Its probably some trapped air or a pulled muscle. I had a painful chest when I breathed deeply just recently which lasted for two days, but it got better. Just chill, the mucas is from your cold. you are not gonna die...
