You really tanked up on the carbs there! No wonder your bg was high. Whole wheat bread is certainly better for ya than white bread, but it's still got the carbs. So does the cereal. You might consider asking your doctor to refer you to a registered dietitian or a Certified Diabetes Educator ( a registered nurse who's done graduate study and passed a tough written exam on the subject) to help you devise a more appropriate meal plan.

In addition to all of the others answers, it could be that you need insulin or need to increase your (or add) oral diabetes medication.

If you already take insulin, it sounds like you did not correctly match your dose to your meal. Ask a dietitian who is a Certified Diabetes Educator to review carb counting and your insulin to carb ratios with you if this is the case.

It's ok to eat some carbs (provided they are healthy ones), as we all need them for energy and other nutrients. Eating only 10 grams of carbs a day is not the answer here either.

You also could be coming down with a cold/virus, under stress, or reason "x". There are other factors that affect blood glucose levels aside from food.

However, please review your treatment plan with your diabetes care team or doctor. You may find that adding some more lean protein to your diet may help. Good job on the whole grain and veggie choices though! At least your are in the right direction and trying hard!!

Wow that is a lot of Carbs in one day especially for a diabetic. You need to watch the carbs and sugar intake and get protein in with what carbs you do eat. For my mom what seems to work is an english muffin with Peanut Butter, never raises her levels. But toast, cereal and just about every bread on the market will raise levels in even non-diabetics.

too much bread even if it is whole wheat,if your on metaformin
it takes a lot longer to open those key receptors in your cells to allow your body's own insulin to flood in. try varying your diet and substitute more veggies for bread
