Soy milk will not have the negative aspects of dairy, but if your diet is correct is still not necessary. You're right to avoid cow's milk!
Humans are the only animal that drinks milk past infancy, and then it's not even from the correct species! Too many people are still trying to defend milk's supposed health benefits. Unfortunately, they are either using old information or information obtained from research funded by the dairy association. How many people would enjoy a glass of dog's milk or rat's milk? What makes cows special?
There are only two reasons which I've found to support humans drinking cow's milk. We have grown up hearing that it's good for us and we've grown accustomed to the taste and texture. There is absolutely no nutrition that can not be obtained elsewhere, minus the negatives. Calcium seems to be the major claim for milk. It can be found elsewhere in green vegetables, almonds, and many other sources. Where do you think the cows obtain the calcium to put into the milk? Where do other larger animals (elephants, horses, deer, whales, etc) get calcium? Why we continue to drink cow's milk laced with growth hormones, antibiotics, and who knows what else is beyond me.
Since I've given up drinking milk about 5 years ago my health has greatly improved. I suffer fewer allergy problems, asthma and breathing problems are greatly reduced, I'm sleeping better, and I have more energy.
In the '50s smoking was considered harmless but now we realize its dangers. One person at a time and eventually the truth will become widely known that cow's milk is only for baby cows. Milk is indeed the perfect food, but only for infants of the proper species.
Do some research online and decide for yourself. These sites have plenty of information, including recipes and other sources of essential nutrients including calcium.

Yes. Firstly, it is not normal for humans to like cow's milk in the first place. Cow's milk is for calves, not people.
Secondly, everyone I know who has quit dairy for whatever reason, and has changed onto soya milk, rice milk, almond milk etc now cannot bear the taste of cow's milk.
Just occasionally someone at work will accidentally make me a cup of tea with cow's milk - to be polite I will try a couple of mouthfuls but I can tell instantly and can't drink it. It's mainly that nasty scum of sort of oily stuff on top of the drink that gives it away, but certainly the taste.
Good for you for giving it up!

I think you sound perfectly normal, cows milk is for calves not humans. Pluss the milk you buy in the store has been modified and pasturize.
Human breast milk is made with 5% protein, and the time in a your life when protein needs are at the highest is when you were an infant. It takes a human baby about 180 days to double birth weight. It takes about 20 years for a human to fully grow.
Cows milk is 21% protein, it takes about 45 days for a calf to double birth weight. It takes a calf about 4 years to fully grow. Cows live healthy and get enough protein and calcium and other nutriants etc from eating grass, shrubs and some grain
The funny thing about too much protein in ones diet is that it becomes toxic and acidic. The body leaches calcium from your bones to nutralize this.
The countries who consume the most dairy and other animal products also suffer from the most osteoporosis.
I prefer the taste of soy milk better as well.

If you think about, we humans are the only species that drink the milk of another species. As babies, we drink from our mothers, but as adults we drink from a cow. Animals drink from their own kind, but we drink from cows.
