I think it depends on what kind of party you want to throw her and the budget. If you want an inexpensive but fun party, maybe you could rent a night at your local community center. You could have a DJ play music and you could play group games. If you want an expensive, luxurious party....rent a night at a club and have someone famous that your daughter loves sing for her. As for the theme, it depends on what your daughter likes. Does she like the beach? If she likes the beach you could make an artificial beach scene at the club, or you could have a masquerade ball......or you could have a black and white party where everybody would dress in black and white. The are so many themes, it's hard to name them all. Pick the theme that most reflects your daughter's personality! I'm sure she'll love it! Good luck!

I like the red carpet theme. When my daughter turned 16, i found every song ever recorded (it seems like it) with a birthday theme (16 candles, happy birthday sweet 16, etc.) and used them as background for a video from when she was born til then; also interviewed people who were important in her life, i.e. grandparents, family friends. Some of them are no longer alive - even more precious.

If an oxygen bar is your idea of a sweet 16, then you don't deserve a party.

Depends where you live. If its semi warm where you are how about a beach party or luau. If its winter a winter wonderland. Other ideas:
*Masquerade Ball
*Spanish Fiesta
*Music Party (Rock and Roll or other music theme)
*Color themes
*Movie theme (pick your favorite movie and decorate around that)
Look on the web for tons of ideas here's one site:

what about Hollywood theme. You could have a hollywood walk of fame by putting a star on cardboard with your guests names on them. Red Carpet, dress up party. It would be fun, or Oscars... The guests could get a statue for attending (make categories for things and present like the oscars)

Have a Luau! Give each quest a Lei when they arrive, set up a tiki bar with lots of fruit and no-alcholic tiki drinks. Have fun with it. I've posted a great site for party decorations. Good luck!
