I don't know if you would call it an explosion, but it can make a very loud pop if the patient is being defibrillated during a CPR and the electrical charge arcs over to the patch. It has happened....

i don't believe it would be,i'm gonna assume the composition is not the same as the explosive type,maybe it's diluted some or something like that
