I liked the first link below which gives easy advice on holding a cocktail party.
The second link gives advice on throwing a retro cocktail party and includes a recipe for a Sidecar cocktail.
The third link takes you to tons of suggestions for easy cocktails from an excellent website for cocktails.
Finally, the fourth link takes you to a website with a host of party games.
Have fun.

a good cocktail that I like is 1oz coconut rum,3oz OJ, 3oz of pineapple juice, a drop of grenadine. Its called a rum rollover. Good stuff. and you have to stick to the classic games of quarters Kamikaze You cant go wrong with that one.you shoot quarters at a shot glass empty. If you make it then everyone else races to finish their shots first if more than one make their quarters in then you swap shot with each other and down Mixing drinks can mess you up so good luck. If you want you can cheat and water you liquor bottle down by 50% before the people arrive. Just a thought

Ive got 2 fave cocktails.....
The Green Mexican- Mix 2 shots gold tequila with 1 shot Midori, top up with apple juice
Sticky Dream- 2 shots Baileys, 2 shots Dooleys and top up with milk
For drinking games, I Have Never.... is fun. Eg someone says "ive never kissed another girl/boy" and those that have done it have a drink.

A great game that gets more interesting as the night goes on..."Honey, if you love me, you'll smile"
Everyone sits/stands in a circle. One person who is "it" chooses anyone in the circle and approaches them saying "Honey, if you love me, you'll smile"-the object is for the other person to keep a straight face for 20 sec. If that works, then "it" has to choose a new victim! If the person smiles, then they become "it", etc. You can play a "no hands version" or the more exciting "hands on" version where "it" can sit on laps, tickle, and tease to entice a smile. It's a lot of fun for a mixed crowd and a great way to loosen everyone up!
