I want to go vegetarian for a month. I have always wanted to go vegetarian but I never had the guts or time to try it. I am not sure if I will be aloud to though. I only want to do it for a month to see how it is...if I like it I will continue. What should I do if my mom says no?

I think there is no point in you doing it if you are only doing it for a month :S
If your going to sart then you should try and not stop then only saying "hey guys im gonna be a vego for a month!" sit down and think about it!
remember you cant eat any animals ect~ meat, fish ect ect.
I have been a vego for 2 years and it great and so many good stuff happends like your health is better you lose those extra pounds and the fact that your saving about 200 animals a year!!!
plus scientist have shown that you live about 15 years longer than a meat eater!
If im not helping you that much than go to this website www.peta2.com and it will show you wat to buy and wat to wear and it will even show why it is cruel and you should become 1. but remember please sit down with your mum or dad and just talk through it and see what comes up.
Im 13 and i started when i was 11 and i havent felt this good in a long time!! =]
Trust me just sit down and think it through cause then you will understand the basics and all the info about becomming 1!! good luck! =)

Get a vegetarian cookbook or two at the library and show your mom you can make your own food so it is no extra work for her, offer to make the side dish for the whole family or a big salad for the start of dinner. If you are choosing a vegetarian life style for diet, health or whatever be sure to explain why and be ready for her concerns. The cookbooks will give good explanations for protein replacement and you can ask your Dr to refer you to a dietitian to make sure you don't get sick. Good Luck!

If you live under your moms roof then you have to abide by her rules. If she does not ALLOW you to go vegetarian there's not alot you can do other than not eat the meat when she serves it.

I went vegy for a while and its kinda hard to stay away from meats.you can still eat fish and poultry(like the birds ya know chicken turkey,ect...)But if being a vegy eater is what you want then its best to try to talk to your mom and explain that its just something you want to try.and if you like it than you really want to do it.Going vegy doesn't harm you in any way its actually better then eating a bunch of meat.but my advice is sit down with her and explain why you want to try this.Well best of luck.

My mom didnt want me to, but i told her i would still eat protein like egg beaters and peanut butter. i havent lost any weight, so my mom has been dealing w/ it ok. good luck and i hope ur mom says its ok!

Like somebody else said, refuse to eat meat when she serves it. Just let it sit and rot on your plate. Sooner or later, she'll have to let up.

You should have thought through your reasons and be prepared to explain them to her (assuming they are good, valid reasons and not "'cause everyone else is doing it" or "it's mean/cruel").
Be prepared to explain to her how you will fullfill your nutritional needs.
It likely that she will only object if she is convinced that your nutrition will suffer.

i think it is a great idea when you take something as wonderful as a steak out of your diet you will know how much you miss it, i was a vegy for about three weeks and when i had my first steak after that long period i almost had an orgasm when i ate it
