maybe she inherited her diabetes from her parents.

Diabetes often runs in families. If one of your parents has diabetes, your chances of getting it immediately become significantly higher. Certain population groups are also more prone to this condition, as are people who are significantly overweight. But if you are diabetic, it is by no means certain that your children will also be diabetics. Just as they may not have inherited your curly hair or strong teeth, they may also have sidestepped the diabetes. Diabetes also seems to be closely linked to lifestyle, and in migrating populations, the incidence of diabetes takes on the pattern of the area to which people have moved.

Here's a little different take on the subject of diabetes--

There are many things you can do to overcome type II diabetes, and improve life as a Type I diabetic. I've been researching alternative medicine, and the amount of help that's available to diabetics is amazing.

Natural remedies are quite effective, and include:

Cinnamon
Bitter Melon
Gymnema Sylvestre
Nopal cactus
American Ginseng
Fenugreek
Chromium picolinate

Cinnamon regulates glucose, and has a polyphenol compound called MHCP that mimics insulin and activates cell receptor sites. Everything on the above list has a use in fighting diabetes. If you are serious about learning how to use these herbs and not falling victim to diabetes needlessly, I suggest getting a copy of--

"One Son's Quest for the Cause and Cure of Diabetes", ISBN 7890766313

The author, a doctor, lost his mother to diabetes and spent the next 20 years finding a way to overcome it. My brother was dying of diabetes, and I was just starting to need insulin when we came across this definitive work which was first availale in February 2005. We both lead mostly normal lives now. It's a life saver, and the best money you'll ever spend on the subject.
You might want to check Abe Books, Alibri's, or Amazon.com for a good used copy cheap. I bought mine new, and I think it was about $35. I don't get any money from anybody for telling you this--just want to help, and the techniques in this book is what made the difference for me and mine. Best of luck.

Even if u rnt born with it, u can develop it at any age. Is she diabetic or hypoglycemic, which is your blood suger is too low? Don't hesitate to ask if u r her friend. If she is diabetic, she is already different but there is nothing she can do about it but take care of herself. THAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING! She must keep her blood sugars on an even keel! She needs to carry something like Skittles in her purse in case she has an insulin reaction which is what her symptoms sound like. My sister developed type one diabetes when she was 15 and has taken care of herself all her life and had two children, one of which developed diabetes when she was 3 years old. When you get older like in your 40s or 50s you can develop type 2 diabetes if you are overweight and do not exercise and eat a balanced diet of vegetables and fruit. Be her friend and ask if there is anything you can get her or do for her. That is being a friend, not ignoring her cause you think u r going to embarass her. That is shallow.

there are two type of diabetes, one is type 1 or commonly know as juvenile diabetes. this type of diabetes is due to her own body attacking the pancreas. when this happens, the pancreas stop producing insulin. so far, unfortunately there is no cure.

the second one is type 2, it is usually caused by 1) being over weight, 2) diet high in fats and sugar, 3) no exercise. you can reverse this type of diabetes by changing your diet, exercise and lose wt.

what your friends has, sounds to me, the type 1 diabetes. the best thing you can do for her is not to act weird around her, let her bring up the topic about diabetes and than ask her some question about it. also if you see that she is shaking she might need help, offer her something sweet like juice or if there is no sweet around, get help.

You can be born with diabetes, or you can become a diabetic. When you become a diabetic it has alot to do with Too Much Sugar. Bad eating habits. You body can no longer produce insulin and you need to be injected or take medication.

I want to tell you when your friend is shaky she needs sugar. Tell her to carry around jolly ranchers or hard candy like that to take. If she does not take care of herself she can slip into a diabetic coma and die. She can loose her eyesight, and have get soars on her feet. Diabetics have a hard time healing as well. They can also bleed to death.

Tell your friend to really educate herself on her disease. It is very important. I am so close to becoming a diabetic, and I have changed my whole regiman just to avoid this. My father is a Type 2 diabetic. He gives himself shots in the stomach. Its really wierd to watch.

Forget anything you have ever been told about Diabetes.

And get this - it has nothing to do with insulin, exercise, diet or anything else you've heard in the past. It's all based on latest breakthrough research that Big Pharma is going Stir Crazy to hide from you.

Lots of people develop it later in their lives. Make sure you ask her how you can help her if she has an emergency.
