I remember reading somewhere that there is a site or organization that helps diabetics (and other chronic illness sufferers) get their meds if they fall upon bad times and cannot afford it on their own.
My bf got laid off from his job and is starting to run low on his fast acting insulin, he no longer has insurance or income because of it.
Does ANYONE know the site/organization or what we should do?

He's not going to run out tomorrow or anything but it's low enough that normally we'd be heading to get more today or tomorrow normally.

He should go to the free clinic in your area and get signed up on health care by going to the social services building he can probably get Medicaid. Usually people with diabetes can get it pretty easily especially since he got laid off and has no insurance now . If for some reason this don't work he can always go to his diabetic doctor. They will NOT let him go with out his medication. I've been going through the same thing and because I work I couldn't get Medicaid but my diabetic doctor gave me 3 vials of Novolog and told me to call her when I got low that they wouldn't let me go without. Good Luck!! & don't waste time on getting this stuff done.

Forget anything you have ever been told about Diabetes.

And get this - it has nothing to do with insulin, exercise, diet or anything else you've heard in the past. It's all based on latest breakthrough research that Big Pharma is going Stir Crazy to hide from you.

Have him sell some of his stuff and buy some insulin. 'Stuff' isn't any good when you are dead.

Or skip a couple of haircuts or Starbucks trips, but buy the insulin.

Don't turn into a freebee or welfare diabetic. That just raises the costs for us paying diabetics because the insulin manufacturers have to make up the losses somehow.

Don't know, but--
There are many things you can do to overcome type II diabetes, and improve the life of a Type I diabetic.

Natural remedies are quite effective, and include:

Cinnamon
Bitter Melon
Gymnema Sylvestre
Nopal cactus
American Ginseng
Fenugreek
Chromium picolinate

If you are serious about not being falling victim to diabetes needlessly, get a copy of "One Son's Quest for the Cause and Cure of Diabetes", ISBN 7890766313. It's a life saver, and the best money you'll ever spend on the subject.
It helped me, and my brother, who was dying. We lead mostly normal lives now. Best of luck.

Check prices at a local WalMart or Sam's. Generic insulin (not sure if your's comes as generic or not) is cheap.

call social services in your town and ask them what steps he needs to take.

you can also call the manufacturer of the insulin and ask them for help.

in an emergency, go to a state funded hospital. they can't turn you away.
