lillyaine; also if your at risk i suggest get your blood work done before you go on your veg diet if that is the only reason you go on it is your health, and if your right about meat being unhealthy why are the eskimos not dropping like flies, they have the lowest rate of heart attacks out of all the human race, but they say it is from fish oil, but i doubt that

The life expectancy for Inuits (no longer called "eskimos") is 15 years less than other Canadians. There is a direct link between animal product ingestion and cholesterol levels, chance of heart attacks/strokes, and cancer rates (for most, but not all, cancers). Meat is neither necessary nor helpful in human health, so I don't miss it at all. I do not need an animal to die in order to feel "wonderful." Life is hell WITH meat, total hell for the animals who are tortured and die for it! Besides, if you like it so much, you should be not be in the vegetarian/vegan section harassing those of us who are thoughtful, compassionate consumers.

Mmm

@Dream Heroin, for a start, it's 10 years younger. Anyway, traditional Inuits, whose diet is wholly carnivorous, have remarkably low rates of heart disease, cholesterol and cancer. They are also much more healthy than your average indigenous people, whose life expectancy is often 40 or 50 or less. Those who live in the traditional way have very limited access to medicines or healthcare, town dwelling Canadians do not.
The Masai of Africa, another carnivorous tribe, also have very low levels or the aforementioned diseases, and live much longer that their closest indigenous neighbours.

This isn't a question. . .it's a statement with a question mark for appearance's sake. If you ever have a legitimate question about the vegetarian or vegan lifestyle, this is the place to post it.

Otherwise, the General category is the place for something like this.

I am so happy for you. However, I hope your steak was wonderful enough to be worth the heart attack you look close to having (if you haven't had one already.)
I mean seriously, if that is in fact your picture, you should get yourself to a doctor and get checked for cholesterol, heart issues, your gross obesity...

But hey, as I said, if you love your steak that much, enjoy.

" I just don't know how you guys can do it".

Grilled portabella mushrooms taste just
like steak ( as much as I can recall anyway ),
only cleaner and without all the
triglycerides and blood. No blood no foul.
