I am currently just starting to have a herpes breakout and the bumps are already there. I didnt notice them until this morning. The doctor told me that taking valtrex as soon as you see the signs of an outbreak would stop you from getting one. Do you think it is too late to take the valtrex since I already have the bumps?

Well obviously it's not going to keep you from getting the sores since they are already there. But it will help them to go away faster. Yes, take them.

Take the Valtrex it will lesson the symptoms and shorten the outbreak.
