My little brother was premature, and his organs were really weak. His weight I think was less than a 1lb. In result, he stayed in hospital for few months after he was born. He gets sick really fast, because his immune system is not as strong as it should be. So just hang in there....everything usually turns out good. I was worried a lot too, but he clinged to life and survived. Medical treatment in USA is great, no worries man. But as you get more attached to the child, it gets harder and harder when they get sick. Because weird thing come to your mind.

I have a friend in Germany whose daughter has already had 4 open heart surgeries for TOF. The last operation was to replace one of her heart valves. Of course it put a lot of stress on the kid and especially the parents too (psychologically and financially). However, the kid is now so relaxed and at home when she goes to the hospital for her follow-ups. All the doctors and nurses know her and love her. She's now in kindergarten and doing fine. She just turned 4 years old last December.
