Suggest you go and read 'ROMEO AND JULIET' by William Shakespeare.

If you think this is appropriate for a question in this category,i would like to remind you that the seat of love ,hatred and other feelings is NOT the heart. It is all in the brain and nowhere else.

It appears that, religion, litterature, history and romance etc got it all wrong by attributing to the heart (the pumping muscular organ)innumerable qualities that no other organ in the body had been attributed.

Can you imagine that on Valentine day somebody come up to you and say that he or she loves you with all his/her brain !! and it is the truth.

Think about it.

There is a huge belief that your emotional and mental well being affect your physical. I'm sorry that I don't know the technical term for it, but I believe it and I've seen this happen with my own two eyes. I believe that things are connected. I believe that if someone affected with certain illnesses has a positive train of thought and prayer, then it's possible to overcome that. And vice versa. Imagine if you were deeply in love with someone and they were taken away from you, be it by death or the relationship falling apart. If your love is so deep and you unable to get over this loss, this will take over your life. You'll be depressed 100% of the time. You're already broken down emotionally so you will begin to break down physically. The ultimate breakdown is death. It gets to the point where you heart just can't take anymore. This is what it means to die from a broken heart. I wish I could explain this better for you.

Usually 'To Die Of A Broken Heart' refers to couples who have been together most of their natural lives and then one of them passes away, leaving the other one alone.Although the one who is still living may have alot of friends and people around them,it seems to never be the same as the love they just lost...It many cases within 1 yr of their partners death, they too will also pass away and it is all because their heart was broken and they are missing their mate. And for the one still living ,life just does not feel the same anymore, and to them death would be much easier to handle than for them to live alone. So it is considered as dieing of a broken heart.

It means the lost of a loved one you never get over, or maybe someone you are in a relationship with breaks it off and you don't understand why and you spend your life longing for that person until you die.

It means that when someone you love dies, you feel you can't live without them, so you die aswell, because you miss them so much you give up on life yourself. This hasppens a lot with elderly couples who have been together 4ever!

someone doesn't correspond to your love, or someone you love betrays you or even if the person you love dies you can have heartbreak and sometimes the pain is so strong that some say you can die from it.

I've heard of cases about couples that are so close that when one partner dies the other one dies right after...
