Good question! Very few people need to know unless of course they could be at risk for infection. They don't necessarily have to disclose that they are HIV+ unless of course they are in a new relationship and are sexually active with this other person or see a dentist on a regular basis and of course their family doctor should know. That's all I can think of for now. Hope this helps.

Well I will give you an instance. I own a Salon and Spa. If a person with any commiunical disease comes in to get a spa service a form on their first initial visit must be filled out. At the top of the form it states the privacy act, so that the client can be assured nothing leaves the treatment rooms. But, if that client doesn't tell us he or she has aids or hepititus etc. and we end up finding a hole in our gloves because of it snagging on velcro or something wouldn't you want to know if you may have been in contact? We do not use the forms to use level of cleaning as each and every service is impeciable but it is to safe guard between client and server.

An infected person must let everyone that they've had sexual contact know of their diagnosis so that those people can be tested.
If they weren't notified that they could have been exposed, and they each go out and sleep with others, then the disease spreads unchecked, which is pretty much the reason why is reached epidemic proportions in the first place.

Only if the infected person is going to have some sort of contact with someone else wherein body fluids might mix, should they need to tell.
Doctors, dentists, etc, have to know. They need gloves and safety glasses when treating.
Sexual partners must be told, because body fluids may mix. If the HIV person doesn't tell his/her sexual partner, they can be prosecuted. Spreading thru sexual contact is a felony.

There are a few states with law's that require a person with hiv to tell another person that could contract the disease through contact. If they don't tell the person, and that person get's hiv, they can be criminally prosecuted. If the person they infected dies, they can be charged with manslaughter in my state.

HIV infected people shouldn't have to just go around and annouce it, but they should tell someone that they have an intimate relationship with.

BECAUSE PEOPLE HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW.
JUST BECAUSE A AIDS PERSON IS DIEING WITH AIDS DOESN'T MEAN THEY SHOULD MAKE OTHERS DIE OF AIDS
