leesa307 - All the above answers are really just random guesses. A heart murmur simply means that when someone listens to your heart, they can hear an extra sound. In many cases, heart murmurs can be completely normal and no abnormalities are seen on echocardiography (ultrasound imaging of the heart). In other cases, heart murmurs can signal the presence of a leaky valve or a stiff valve or a hole in your heart. Without knowing what the cause of your heart murmur is, nobody here can tell you whether energy drinks or pills are safe (especially since there are so many kinds with so many different ingredients that it also depends on which energy drinks or pills you're talking about).
This is something you should discuss with your physician who will KNOW whether your murmur is an innocent murmur (in which case it may be safe) or if your murmur is due to a more serious heart condition (in which case it may not be). If you have a specific drink or pill you are concerned about, bring that in for him to examine as well. Hope that helps. Good luck!

You should be more concerned about visits to the dentist. Always have your dentist put you on a week of antibiotics before dental work. As I was told ,bacteria released during the proceedure can find it's way to the heart valve with the murmer
and then you know the rest of the story.

it is almost never a good idea to take energy pills or drinks however when you have a heart condition, it is definatly a bad idea. these products will speed up the hearts pace and it is a bad idea to put extra stress on an already suffering heart
