PVD Peripheral vascular disease. It's common in both of those conditions. Especially in diabetes. When a person's blood sugar is elevated for a long period of time, it can cause a plaque to build up in the arteries, causing poor circulation (more specifically venous return). It is especially bad if the person is up on their feet, or sitting upright with feet dangling for long periods of time. They need to AVOID SALT, drink lots of water, walk, elevate feet when sitting, and speak the their doctor about a medication called Trental.
