Look under centers for disease control, morbitity and mortality. That is CDC, US public health service, health and human services, Communicable diseases branch. Syphillis still kills. But mostly
infants coming from other countries such as central and south america. Most of the tertiary syphillis
patients have died off. There are still a number of people who are diagnosed with active syphillis but once a person has it, it's possible the blood will read the persons blood as reactive. A more specific test when performed can shdow if the disease is active and by titering the blood can tell about how long the patient has been infected.
And, of course those who go condomless do spread it around. It may not even be noticed in the early stage cause a sore that develops is not really sore.
It could be hidden inside the vagina and the disease moves to the secondary stage with massive rashes on the trunk and hands and feet and a recurrence of the primary sore. Needless to say, most p[eople get treatement at this point.
Unfortunately, HIV has caused a relaxing in the population about the revages of syphillis. Well..as long as it isnt AIDs.....See the fallacy in this?
If you dont find what you need let me know on line and maybe I can help you find what you are looking for. I know they exist cause i used to get the reports once a week.
