I use a ventolin (salbutimol) inhaler. I always forget to put in my repeat prescription and find myself struggling with the dregs. Does the stuff that comes out towards the end of it's useful life, actually do any good?

according to my son's resp therapist each inhaler has only a certain amount of full doses and then even though it sounds like there is still meds it may not deliver a full dose. Try marking a calendar to refill on the same day each month whether you have used up your current one or not. It is better to have extras at home than not have one when you need it cuz it is at the pharmacy.

Definetly. I've had asthma for 19 years and hated taking my preventative meds...
Sabutamol sulfate can really make your day.
It may not give you relief as first, but keep using it when you have asthma attacks.
Sounds gross, but one day you'll have a coughing fit from it, and htat'll clear your lungs like no tomorrow ^__^;

Good Luck!
And remember; Coffee doesn't solve asthma... it only actually works for some people. *was part of a study*

EDIT:
erhm... uhm...
yeah. Its better when you've got a full canister. The propellant and meds mix better that way XD

If you were to have a severe asthma attack this may not realive you, but if someone else had a inhaler for eg. if you were out you could use that also best to have a couple spare in the house. better safe than sorry when it comes to breathing problems, as can take mins to become fatal

Maybe what you need to do is to clean the appilcator

I found that my Albuterol acted like it was empty after using about 2/3rds of it

Remove the medicine container from the applicator

Run some hot water thru the applicator in both directions.

Dry
then reinstall med container

yeah you really don't seem to get enough medication at the end but yet we seem to forget to reorder our prescriptions. not only that but i continually lose my preventative inhaler and spend all my time looking for it.
