Ok, so I looked around on the internet and found an interesting link regarding a menu from Boston during the 1800s...Fried cod was on the menu at "15"...I am uncertain as to what type of currency was used at that time...Sterling? Crowns? Pence? English Pounds? Regardless, if you can research that aspect of $ then you'll have an estimate of what a dinner would cost give or take a 80 yr. difference. Good luck to you.

uhhh, i believe the currency in use in Boston in the 1800s was the same currency in use anywhere else in America in the 1800s. I would try cents.

Not sure. It wasn't there. I'm betting it was cheaper than a happy meal.
