No, it's not that. It's the fact that places like Chi-Chi's and other chain restaurants are serving Tex-Mex and Americanized food. They want to differentiate themselves from that kind of food. Many things the chains sell are not authentic.

the reason there is a need for restaurants to say that they are authentic mexican, is when taco bell came out with the enchirito, need i say more..............
