Hey sweetie pie! Type 1 diabetes is scary and tough, no one can disagree with that! It's with you all the time, always serious and threatening, and you never can take a vacation. Give yourself some credit for being your own pancreas while trying to live life like everyone else! It takes a very strong person to do this. One day, there is a very good chance that someone will admire and love that inner strength.
Remember that you have diabetes, but it does NOT define who you are! You still have other qualities others will love.
Do the best you can with your diabetes care team to keep yourself healthy. Do not be too hard on yourself, and don't expect perfection. Your tests are to help you manage your blood sugar, they are not an indication of how "good" or "bad" of a person you are. Just correct and move on.
Make sure you talk to your doctor. Granted, this disease will be hard to control no matter what you do...BUT you can look at things to make coping EASIER, like an insulin pump. Or join a support group or camp for young people (or adults!) with diabetes.
If you take good care of yourself, you can usually really make a difference in what happens to you. Even if you still have problems, realize that some Type 1 diabetes complications are NOT your fault! You did not do anything wrong, since insulin injections do not sucessfully replace a pancreas for an entire lifespan. Look into all of the new treatments that exist to keep Type 1 diabetics healthy for longer, even with complications. Pregnancy can also be acheived for most, with lots of hard work and special care.
You can also adopt a lonely child and give them a great and loving home if your doctor decides pregnancy is not safe for you.
Know that others feel the way you do. You have to find a way to do the things you want in life with this new obstacle. I know you can do it! Take the time to be sad if you need it. Let your friends and family know how hard this is for you. You might be surprised at how much they didn't realize, and how much they want to support you.
If you really need to, you can also talk to your doctor about talking to a psychologist. You are not crazy-you were just dealt a bad hand and need coping skills. Medication is an option, but I don't like this route unless you REALLY need it to get out of bed. Medication will not change your circumstance, and some anti-depressants make diabetic control worse.
Hang in there!
P.S. I can understand how it must be scary to think of what may happen to you. BUT...what if nothing does?! Do you want to look back and say, "Why did I worry myself sick?". NO!!!
Cross that bridge when you get to it. Perhaps with good control, good genes, and a little luck, you will never suffer any major effects of Type 1 diabetes (aside from the day to day stress of course!).
What if a viable cure therapy is found? You never know!
Keep your head up. Take pride in how well of a job you do.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.
Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

I know how you feel. Try to find a diabetes support group that is not just for people over 70.
Try your local hospital.
There are several groups on line . Check Yahoo groups.
I had a hard to deal with type 2 diabetes through my pregnancies. At one point, I was almost taking the record amount of insulin.I was taking over 600 units a day.I was very heavy and had huge insulin resistance.
As a type 1, you will never have to deal with that.I have a friend with type 1 for over 60 yrs. She has children that are over 40.
Join a dating site . Don't mention the diabetes.Just start dating.
If you need to seek the advice of a doctor for Meds and talk therapy.
Hell- contact me.I'd love to talk to you.

You need to talk with your doctor about the depression. He may suggest anti-depressives, but believe it or not, some of them have anxiety as a side-effect. Please try not to worry about things that probably won't even happen. You can do pretty much the same as you've always done, you just have to get used to watching your sugar level, and symptoms which could lead to a hypo. Carry high energy sweets around with you, in case you start to feel dizzy or shaky. Of course you'll find someone to love you, and go on to have healthy babies. The nurses and docs will monitor your pregnancies carefully. I know diabetes can come as a hell of a shock, and can take some time to get your head round it all, but you'll get there. Good luck

this will pass. If you continue to feel this way I would speek to your doctor. I am a type 1 and whenever I start to feel this way i think of all the people I know that are worse off then me. Or all the young children that don't understand what is wrong with them. The bad feeling pass real quick when I put it like that. The day I was diagnoised my sisters best friend had a fatial heart attack leaving behind her son 3 days older then my daughter and a little girl in kindergarten. I told myself from that day on I was the luck one. Hope that helps you a little.
