Shellfish dead before it's cooked?

Always wanted to try Lobster but I beliveve they scream when they go in the boiling water. Isn't there a humane way to kill them?

Im some states it's the law to kill shellfish before being cooked.

Shouldn't it be dead before it is cooked?
Same with all meat shouldn't it?

A crab should be dead within 3 minutes after you chucked it in the pot of boiling water.

if you are asking about the sea crab then your in the wrong section,BUT if you are asking about the crab that infest your private regions then your in the right section,which is it.
