My mother is Polish and my father is Italian, so I'm half and half! Even though my mother is Polish we eat Italian food at least 3 or 4 times a week! I love Italian food! The only Polish food I've had is pierogis which is like a raviolli except if has potato inside. I don't know about Sunday, but I go out to dinner every Saturday.

I'm also Italian and I grew up eating our pasta (had to be tomato sauce), meat and salad every Sunday by 2:00pm. We also had to make sure we were all together or my dad would be upset. Now that I'm married with kids I try to keep the same tradition.

I am from Kansas in the USA, and my family usually picks something more involved for sunday dinner, and I make it.
I have more time on sundays to cook all day, so that is the day I make more elaborate meals that take longer to cook.
My husband is from Jalisco Mexico, so he always asks me to make tamales and soup, or meat in a mole sauce (MO-lay....NOT the animal!).
Sunday is usually the day I cook pinto beans for the rest of the week as well, since it takes hours.
I usually make some type of pastry or dessert too.

Italian also, Sunday nights it depends on how many are here, we drink a lot of wine before dinner, got the salad, pasta dish and a meat dish and ofcourse you got either your canoli and tiramisu for dessert. So Braciole could be one, eggplant parmigiana, sometimes just pasta fagioli, penne alla vodka, tomatoe sauce w/ meatballs and sausage. I AVOID CANNED OR JARRED SAUCES! Always something different here, being 21, I can say I love cooking nice meals.

My mom is Caribbean and my dad is American, in growing up we ate a typical Caribbean Sunday dinner.
Big dinner.
Brown Stewed chicken
Oxtails
Fry Chicken
White rice
red beans
baked macaroni & with 3 cheeses
callaloo ( a type of cream spinach with coconut milk) very good
potato salad
tossed salad with different dressings of our choice
Fresh fruit juice
I try to keep the same in my family today, but sometimes i would do rice and peas and jerk chicken

Pasta is person-friendly in Italy because that's lower priced. properly, it become. they have been boycotting pasta because the cost higher drastically. it is also basic to practice. AND scrumptious!
