I have had genital herpes for a year and within the year i have miscarried twice. I am currently taking Valtrex, but how long do I have to wait before getting pregnant again? The doctor said I miscarried because of the herpes. I just found out I have them about 3 months ago.

1 asshole's answer was totally wrong because I HAVE NOT ever had an outbreak so how could I have known the man had the virus? We were together 3 years and he cheated. The problem isnt an outbreak cause I havent ever had one - its the actual virus in my blood that made me miscarry. so im wondering how long before my anitbodies will fight off the virus so i will be able to carry full term.

its about when or if herpes will cross the placenta.
If the virus crosses early in the pregnancy it may cause a miscarriage and deformities in the unborn child.
I honestly didn't know about the body building up antibodies against the virus, I heard it a lot while looking through questions, and that is pretty interesting.
What I would suggest is just ask a specialized Dr. They know all of the information on these things.

Start cooking with coconut oil.
Eat it in place of as many oils (butter included) as you can in your diet. It has been shown to reduce the activity of viral infection in the body dramatically.
I have never heard of herpes causing miscarriage. I know that it can create complications during delivery if you have an outbreak, usually resulting in emergency C section.
Perhaps seek a second opinion.

Sorry to hear you are having problems. Try changing your diet and seeing if that will help. Don't drink coffee, and try to avoid chocolate and sugar as much as possible.
Good luck!
