It can't be done. The test strip works by reducing the sugar in the blood by a chemical reaction making the blood/glucose conductive. The meter then reads the electrical resistance (more sugar = less resistance) of the blood/glucose to determine the mg/dL glucose level in the blood.

Speak to your doctor about getting a cheaper brand or even free samples from your doctors office. Most Doctors will try to work with you if you are unable to afford certain medical supplies. Also look into alternative places to purchase them...eBay is only one source i can think of..but I'm sure there are hundreds of web sites where you can get discounted test strips. I don't think you can reuse a test strip...but ask your Dr or pharmacist if there is a way to do this with out screwing up the reading.
Good luck.

I am also a diabetic and do agree with the other posts. The strips are for only a single use. The next time you get more test strips ask if you can get a larger supply. By telling the pharmacist or whomever you deal with to get diabetic supplies the amount of times you have to test each day will give them an idea of how much to give you. It would probably be a good idea also to talk to your doctor about it. He should be able to help you to at least give you some to tide you over until you get a new supply.

You can not remove the blood and reuse the test strips. I know that these things are expensive, but they are only made for one use. To do otherwise will most likely affect the results, and your health. If you're having trouble paying for your diabetes supplies, talk to your doctor! There are lots of programs out there that can help you pay for your test strips and your lancets. Good luck to you.

You don't. The strips are only designed to be used once, and if you try to wash the blood out so they can be used again, they may not give accurate results the second time around, which defeats the purpose of using them (bad data is worse than no data at all).

Honestly hon you can't they are meant for single use only! If you could find a way to remove the blood you probably would not get a correct reading. Try looking into government of state aide to see if you can get more strips.

Forget anything you have ever been told about Diabetes.
And get this - it has nothing to do with insulin, exercise, diet or anything else you've heard in the past. It's all based on latest breakthrough research that Big Pharma is going Stir Crazy to hide from you.
