I would tell you to pay more attention to how much you are eating particular foods than identify the foods themselves. Your physician should have given you a food list/exchange. You should not be eating processed foods or store-bought cookies/candy/soda etc. Concentrate on proteins and veggies and a few fruits. Get yourself some good educational material on the Exchange Diet and you can't go wrong. Remember, a serving is the size of a deck of cards, or how much you can hold in the palm of your hand. Serving size is very important for diabetics. Godloveya.

Lots of veggies. Lean meats, such as chicken, turkey, fish. Eat fruits but don't over do it. Fruit has natural sugar and to much is not good for diabetics. Quantity is important, don't over do it. You can have a steak now and again. Take substances that help lower blood sugar, such as, cinnamon is a good natural source to lower blood sugar. Drink plenty of water. Get plenty of exercise. Exercise is very important in effectively managing your diabetes. Good luck from a fellow diabetic.
