Do you mean Emphysema?

If it's Emphysema... it's a type of COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) associated with current/former cigarette smokers. It becomes an obstructive disorder secondary to loss of lung elasticity... which means it's easy to breathe in but difficult to breathe out. You'll find that folks with emphysema puff (also called pursed lip breathing) as they exhale.

There is also a genetic form of emphysema caused by alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency.

I can go on and on, but I'll see if I can find a few good links for you to click through. I'll place them in the reference section below this posted answer.

Good luck.

Look it up under emphysema. It's ghastly and progresses long after a smoker has quit. I know, because when a teenager, I thought smoking was cool.
