This is just for a regular heart, no exercising or anything like that. Just standing still, how many times does the average heart beat per minute?

This is a very interesting question. To start with it all depends if you are thinking of an old person or a young person. So there already exists a slight difference. On checking the heart beat one must be lying down and not standing. One must be completely calm as much as possible. But considering an average heart rate it runs between 70-80 times a minute.
Do you know that it is estimated that the heart completes over 100,000 beats per day and 2,000,000,000 beats in an average life time. The muscle power generated per day is enough to lift four large cars to a height of 4 meters

40 to 60 beats is a healthy heart rate. A trained athlete will be closer to 40 the average fit person would be in the 60 range. Faster then 60 bpm is considered tachycardia, less then 40 is bradicardia.

60 to 100 hundred beats per minute is normal. Below 60 beats per minute is called bradycardia and above 100 beats per minute is called tachycardia.
