What age about do you grow out of Juvinille Diabetes?Age 18

Unfortunately, it is not possible to "grow out" of juvenile (type I) diabetes. Your pancreas is incapable of producing significant insulin on its own, therefore your body must rely upon an external source. The leading theory is that one's immune system improperly attacks the beta cells as foreign objects and destroys them. Beta cells are the producers of insulin. Since the cause is likely genetic, you are stuck with it, unless in the future there is some type of gene therapy for existing type I diabetices. While the stem cell therapy holds some promise for replacing beta cells, it would not prevent the cells from being destroyed again.

It is true that type II diabetics can reduce or eliminate the medication they take in many cases, using diet and exercise. This is primarily because their bodies still produce insulin, but just doesn't use it very efficiently.

Honey I took Juvenal Diabetes at 10 years old now I'm 43 and am still a Juvenal diabetic. My daughter took it at 11 and is 18 now. You NEVER out grow diabetes especially if it's Juvenal or Type 1 diabetes. Just eat a sensible diet and exercise if it's only a mile a day walking. I'm so sorry you have it at 18 but remember their are always someone worse off that you and it may not even be related to diabetes My friend has a 28 year old daughter who will forever be in her mind 17 months old! Be Strong you can do this. Look at how many of us have!

Sorry, but you will always have Juvenile Diabetes.
Diabetes is a chronic disease. Diabetes is categorised into Juvenile & Adult (Type1 or Type 2) based on age of onset.

from my understanding they only call it juvenile because you are under 18 once you hit 18 you still have diabetes don't let this bring you down some people do row out of it

age group usually between 10-18. but donot worry about diabetes whether type 1 or 2, if u follow healthy life style by taking care about ur diet and exercise

At any age. If it is truly Juvenile Diabetes, stop acting like juvenile eat healthy.

But if you stick to proper diet sooner.

Again there are types of it, body chem type at about 16-18 you are right but eating habits type...
