I just kinda thought this up but serisoly dont take this one the wrong way! Now I know vegitarions just dont eat fruit and vegtiables but when you eat the vegtables like with meat dont you kill the plants and take away there life? Since they are living things too? Now please dont take this the wrong way it just came to mind.

Well a lot of people who are vegetarians are vegetarians because of health issues not really because of animal cruelty. I am a vegetarian because I don't like the way animals are treated before they go to the slaughter house. There is so much animal cruelty that it is unbearable to watch one of those DVDs then go have a burger. Plants aren't kept away from their parents, kept in horrible living situations, and beaten by cruel people. I'm not saying that everywhere you get meat it is like this but there are just too many places where the animals are treated like they don't have pain or feelings, when they do. They are basically living in fear until the moment they die! That is why I don't feel bad eating plants, they are not tortured, and lets face it, we have to eat something. Hope this helps, and no I'm not offended.

My thoughts:
Plants do not have a central nervous system to allow them to feel pain
They do not have a limbic system (or any brain at all really) that allows them to feel emotion such as fear and love
They do not care for their young or protect them from great dangers
They do nuzzle their babies, nor do they scream when their babies are ripped from them the moment of birth
Plants are not forced into cannibalism
Plants are not hung from hooks, skinned or gutted alive, nor are they made to watch this happen to their families (if they were, you could go back to the physiology of no pain and no emotion)
Plants are not locked in cages with 18 others like them, unable to move, forced to p*ss and defecate on each other, while inadvertently clawing each others eyes out because they cannot move... If one dies in this cage, it is not left their for days or weeks, rotting next to its kin.
Plants are not fed so many hormones that their bones break trying to hold the weight of themselves... They are then not forced to stay alive once their bones are broken.
Plants are not so over-bread that they have begun missing vital organs
Plants are not tortured from the moment they are born until the moment they are slaughtered.
Plants have lived in sunlight.
These are some of the reasons why I will eat plants and not animals.
Hope this helped.
:)

The reason I became a vegetarian is because animals are tortured and DO feel pain when being killed. Plants on the other hand don't have a central nervous system (which makes you feel pain) therefore I will continue to eat plants and not animals.

Well the plants don't have central nervous systems, so they can't feel pain.
Also not all vegans are for animal rights, they could be vegan for environmental or for health reasons. Animal products are foreign objects that you should never put into your body, and plants are fine. Plants don't cause the environmental problems, either...
and no offense taken

I'm no vegetarian but I think your thought process is actually more popular than one would think. My 9 yr. old daughter still gets upset with me every year when we take down the annual "live" christmas tree and I dismember it and burn it in the fire pit. For some reason when we go in search for it and cut it down, drag it home etc.. she has no problem with it actually she enjoys this process when she was younger she would even name the tree. Anyway the perception of what is "living" and what is "producing life" sometimes gets a little blurred in either case they both "sustain life" for us cause we are at the top of heap!

Plants grow back unless you uproot them.
They also don't feel pain.- no central nervous
system. Once an animal is killed she's gone.
Also most animals killed are female and they
are pimped and whored for their byproducts
before hand.
