As more and more studies are coming up about the detrimental aspects of non vegetarian food, many people are anxious to know how they can stay healthy without giving up their favorite non vegetarian delicacies. The following points list the demerits as well as ways you can circumvent the harmful effects.
1. Non Vegetarian foods are fibreless: The roughage portion is missing in non vegetarian diets, therefore one should make a conscious effort to eat foods high in roughage. The foods high in roughage (insoluble fiber) are wheat bran, whole cereals like brown rice. Oat fiber is particularly beneficial for cardiac cholesterol related disorders. Oats have soluble fiber which dissolves in the body fluids and helps the body to decrease the cholesterol buildup.
2. Non Vegetarian foods are high in cholesterol: Since non vegetarian foods contain cholesterol, it is important to avoid other foods which can have additive affect on the cholesterol, like dairy products, particularly cheese. Besides these, one must avoid foods which have trans-fatty acids.
3. Non Vegetarian foods which are processed and preserved may contain high amounts of chemicals. Therefore, it is important to limit the quantity of non vegetarian food products which may contain preservatives.
4. Non Vegetarian foods are devoid of many vitamins. To keep up a healthy level of Vitamin B complex and Vitamin C, it is important to eat fruits and vegetables in adequate quantities to prevent any deficiency from coming up. Fruits should be eaten in their natural state and drinking packed juices is not the solution. Similar is the case with eating vegetables destroyed by deep frying beyond recognition.
5. Non vegetarians need strong digestive enzymes to be able to digest proteins. Hence, it is important to include sources of natural digestive enzymes in the diet to help the body keep its digestive capability high. Foods rich in enzymes are raw papaya (can be eaten as a salad) - rich in enzyme papain; pineapple - rich in the enzyme bromelene, and basic salads which are rich in natural enzymes.
6. Many authorities claim that people should be cautious while consuming fish found near industrial zones as they may be toxic.
7. Red meat should be consumed sparingly if you have increased incidence of hypertension and heart problems. Once a week, detox by eating fruits, sprouts, vegetable juices, salads and non-roasted nuts.

My friend, Diet is harmful after 25 years of age, whether it is veg or non-veg. We have many examples like Hira Ratan Who did not took food contin for 400days and still he was working, One lady in Ambaji villege in Gujarat ,since last 15 years she is not taking the diet and still working. There are so many exa. we have in our society.
Basically diet does not give sterenth to our body after 25 years of age.if it is ,the rich can have the best diet with kaju fruits etc. and can be the strogest person the world but u will find a poor man taking a rotty and can lift 100kg wheat which a rich man can not.
After taking breakfast in the morning at 7.00am , U need not require lunch at 12.00pm. because medical science says that it requires 3 to 4 hours to digest food.but u run for lunch a 12.00 is it n"t?
So friend, do not go in to the type of diet, but do upvas. as much u can .Which will increase your inner strength and will lead to your mind development and ultimately to your GOAL.

Human teeth are meant for eating vegetarian food it is proved biologically too. Non Vegetarianism in my view makes you aggressive, intolerent and may cause health problems too. It is true the type of food we eat shall go to develope that type of wisdom alone. Vegetarians have strong immune system and more in tune with nature.Meat of an animal or a bird may carry its disease to you when you eat it.The dying animal does condemn the killer and dies in awe! This alone should desist the meat eater who need not rejoice their non vegetarian diet. If you are a religious person then it is real crime to kill an animate or a living thing for in it too resides the same lord that resides in you!

There is nothing harmful in taking non-vegetarian diet if you ensure the diet taken is cleaned and properly cooked. Philosophical theories forbid to us from eating non-veg food simply because we are not designed to eat non-veg food. We dont have pointed teeth to tear flesh. We dont have innards designed to digest non-veg food. Besides we dont have enough physical activites to digest non-veg food. Its also recommended not to eat raw food as it involves over functioning of stomach to digest the food. But that certainly is not going to stop me from eating raw guava, mango etc etc. There is no sin eating non-veg food. Be very sure of the facts before you form any opinion about veggie/non-veg food. Happy eating!

infact non vegetarian diet is very good source of certain nutrients which vegetarian foods lack in.
but as the proverb goes" too much of anything is good for nothing", too much of non veg foods lead to cardio diseases, diabetes , obesity and other related disorders.
what generally happens is that when one have got used to non veg foods from their childhood , in future years they reach a condition where they cant even have a meal without atleast 1 non veg food, so as a result due to its ill effects at later stage they are forced to quit non veg ,
so to put in nut shell.........." ITS BETTER TO HAVE THEM IN LIMIT OR ELSE U"LL BE FORCED TO QUIT THEM COMPLETELY"...........the choice is ours.........

Cholestrol is a big facter when eating meat. You could get food poisoning from uncooked food. Not to mention parasites that could be present in uncooked food. If you don't have a well-balanced diet you could become obese.
