is rheumatic fever lead to death if i taken 1 peniciline injection per month for 10year after had an attack?

In my age of 11, i had an rumatic attack on my right leg knee( swell over my knee).there after i started to take one peniciline injection per month.then in my age of 12 again i had an rumatic attack over the same leg on the knee.i continued to take one peniciline injection per month without fail till my age of 21 as per doctor's advice. now im 23year old.im an smoker for the past 6 years and i used to drink also.

Rheumatic fever is most likely to lead to complications when untreated. You have been having treatment so you are less likely to get complications (although it isnt guaranteed). You really need to stop smoking, as that will do serious damage to your heart and lungs which may already have had some damage done to them;

A two dimentional echocardiogram can help see if your heart valves are affected.
