I have a child with asthma and would like to know which is better.

You should really ask they're doctor. My son had asthma and he had to have breathing treatments and that is kind of similar to the cool mist humidifier so that might be good instead of dry air...but like I said I would double check with the doctor to be on the safe side!

Try a warm mist humidifier. The mist is easier to breath and helps keep the dust and dander down in the home. They are easier to regulate that steam vaporizers. Many have dial to control the amount of moisture in the air.

Steam vaporizor. I think bacteria can develop in the cool mist humidifier.
