If it's plugged in, then at the very least, it needs to be repaired. It might need to be replaced. But unless you repair major appliances for a living, you can't tell.

You do need a service call.

In the meantime, look for any and all information that you can find on food safety and storing food during a power outage.

Turn down the temperature. If doesn't work at all check if you've blown a fuse. My refrigerator has broken down before because I used the microwave at the same time as the toaster oven. I don't do that any more. My landlord replaced the fuse and everything was up and running. My frigde is weird... sometimes it freezes things that are in the very back of the fridge and if I turn it down everything is warm up front.

Probably needs to b flushed if it was making weird gurgling noises prior to going out. Other possibilities are the compressor or thermostat. Someone will probably have to look at it so here's what you do unless it's frost.

It could be too close to the wall, ie: in a corner, or the gap underneath is blocked. There must be room for air to circulate.

You may have a freon leak. ONLY a licensed freon repair person (in my state anyway) can fix it or it may simply need to be dumped and a new one purchased.

Call your local plumbing and heating man or a Refrig. repair man.
