Diabetes insipidus has nothing to do with blood sugar or insulin. I am not sure what the first respondent was talking about. DI is a water problem, not a sugar problem. DI results from a lack of anti diuretic hormone, and you end up peeing a lot.

Diabetes insipidus is caused due to lack of vasopressin a hormone which stop excessive urination.patients with DI urinate a lot.
