I am diabetic, and have had several done over the years. I have never had any problems. A lot of tatoo shops may ask you to fill out a form and ask if you are diabetic. If you answer yes, they may not do a tatoo. If you say no, then they are off the hook if you get an infection or other reaction. I have had a couple artists that have not asked. It is important to take care of the tatoo afterwards. I would use hot compresses, followed with a moisturizer that has no fragrance. I use the type recommended for diabetics for their feet. Usually within 6 to 10 days, they are completly healed.

Yes you can. I'm a Type-1 diabetic and I have 11 tattoos. I've been a diabetic for 10 years and my oldest tattoo is 10 years old... I've never had any problems.

I'm diabetic and have 4 tattoo's and had 3 major piercings. Had no trouble with the tattoo's but my lip piercing took year and a half to heal. Each tattoo was done at different places and never was i asked if i was diabetic.

Yes.
Diabetics can take a long time to heal from regular guts and scrapes, and wounds. Due to the blood sugars. Most diabetics do not heal as quickly as non diabetics. There fore when getting a tattoo, you are more susceptible to getting an infection or not healing and getting to the way you want the tattoo to look.

Just take really good care of yourself and follow all instructions provided by your Tattoo artist.

If you are fit, and your control is good, then your risks from having a tattoo are the same as for anyone else. These are the risks of infection at the site if the injections, the pain of the procedure, and the problems associated with removal of the tattoo if you get fed up with it; they are permanent and much harder to remove than to have done. http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/ate/diabetes/203273.html

You probably can but if I was you I wouldn't risk it as a diabetic takes much longer to heal and is at a much greater risk of infection. At the end of the day the only one who can make the decision is yourself.

yes you can. i got one done about 18 months ago and it hurt like hell but was fine. :)

mine was flakey when healing so all I did was wash it very gently with warm soapy water in the shower every day then rubbed a small amount of moistureiser on it afterwards. it took about 10 days to heal and still looks great today!

just make sure as you would that they are hygienic and carefull with their equipment.
