I just wanted to know how long people can live with these stints and how often you have trouble with them reclogging.Do they seem to bother you.

You may have been advised to continue your plavix for at least a year to prevent acute closure or clogging of your stents, because of the drug coating. This is certainly our practice within my cardiology group. In general, most people do very, very well with these stents. Keep working on modifying other risk factors for coronary disease, as well: If you have diabetes or high blood pressure, control this. Get your cholesterol down with your doctors' help. If you smoke, stop. And exercise all or most days of the week. Good luck.

I have two (2) non-coated steel stents so that is not an issue in my case, but I have read several articles where they claim the medicated coated stents have some serious problems. Therefore if I were you, and if there is any sign of a problem (without being paranoid) I would go see your cardiologist, also ask him/her about the coated stent reports.
