I'm assuming that you mean for unmarried people.
Greater self-respect, for making a focused decision about such an important thing as sex, rather than just being self-indulgent or giving in to passion and peer pressure.
Pleasing God.
Developing self-discipline, which is a good characteristic to have in many areas of life.
Maintaining a particular kind of respect for what sex can mean that will make it more special in marriage, and will help you be faithful (because you know already that you can live through not having sex whenever you feel like it, it's easier to resist taking a lover).
Never having to worry who the father of your baby is, or whether your boyfriend/girlfriend will still respect you after you add sex to your relationship, or did they love you for your whole self or for the sex. Less fear about whether he/she is cheating (i.e., if they are abstaining while beginning to date you, they are probably not doing it with someone else at the same time).
No health risks, costs, or depending on medical professionals as you would have if you needed to obtain birth control.
No health risks, costs, or long-term responsibilites caused by having children before you're ready. Less baggage to take into future loves.
Freedom to pursue other life choices due to not having kids before you're ready (travel, college, etc.).
The probability of having fewer heartbreaks and less drama that you go through or that you cause others.
Admiration/respect from some peers and many older adults.
Gives a future serious love/spouse reassurance that they are really special to you, that sex isn't just something you'd do with any ol' person and they're the 20th such person.
More time available to develop a variety of interests and take part in many activities, not get overinvolved with sex. This also, if you're dating, allows you to develop a more realistic and solid knowledge of your date.

i would say that the biggest plus about practicing abstinence is that you can know that you are saving yourself for your future husband( or wife). i think about the people who sleep with anyone they want and it mortifies me that they are not thinking about the real reason for intimacy between a man and a woman. God made intercourse for a married man and woman ONLY so that they can share that closeness and of course have families.
i think that std's pregnancy and broken hearts are a natural consequence of sex outside of marriage. if everyone practiced abstinence than we would not have any of these things.

There is nothing wrong with deciding to make good decisions about your sexuality. You won't have any worries about being pregnant or contracting a sexually transmitted disease. Not only that, but if/when you do decide to have sex with someone, it will be special. Your partner will respect you that much more, because you will be respecting yourself.

You save yourself for someone who really is deserving of it. You don't have to worry about getting pregnant, getting a disease, or anything like that. Even with protection there are those percenteges where something happens and you wind up pregnant, or contracting a disease.

You can't say "positive consequences." That makes no sense.
But I get what you are asking. How about...you won't get ANY STDs.....and you don't have to worry about getting pregnant.
