Frankly I would steer clear of margarine period, but if you are going to use it, tub is the only way to go. Check the list of ingredients, and make sure there are no partially hydronated vegetable oils. That is the trans-fats. You also want to watch the salts - in everything.
I use whipped butter myself.

Some like 'Becel' help to lower your cholesterol level.
I've recently switched to an 'olive oil spread' and it tastes just like margarine. (And I'm quite a fussy eater!)
Saturated fat and salt levels are also important things to check when choosing margarines.
