Here's some good news on possible cures:
====================
‘On-Off Switch’ for HIV Found
Even though there is still no cure for HIV, scientists at Princeton University think a genetic “on-off switch” may be able to inactivate the virus indefinitely. Scientists Leor Weinberger and Thomas Shenk have found a specific genetic trigger that sends HIV into its latent phase, hiding and hibernating until another trigger awakens it and allows it to re-emerge and wreck havoc throughout the body.
Weinberger and Shenk studied how TAT, an HIV protein, contributes to starting and interrupting a surge of chemical reactions that leads to full-blown infection. Using previous research of their own and that of others, they theorize that the TAT protein and the chemicals that change it serve as a kind of “resistor,” working in a way similar to resistors used to slow or reduce the flow of electrical current. The TAT resistor causes HIV to enter its latent phase, and the scientists believe that understanding how to activate it to interrupt the series of reactions that lead to viral infection could have wide-ranging effects.
“I believe we’ve uncovered an important component of the biological switch,” said Weinberger. “If we can figure out how such resistors affect viruses, it might lead to a whole new class of drugs than can treat some of the world’s most dangerous illnesses.”

Your body's immune system is made of multiple cells that work together to protect you from disease. HIV damages your immune system, making it less capable of identifying and stopping diseases. AIDS is the term for when the HIV has so badly damaged the immun e system that the body is defenseless.
Other diseases take advantage of this, and so even a cold can turn into something much larger and life-threatening. The body is unable to fight it off properly. All systems are affected, and people with AIDS may be prone to fevers, aches and pains, etc.
AIDS has no cure, and it evolves quickly, so it can overcome methods used to treat it.
It is terrible because it is, essentially, a death sentence... with a long, painful descent toward death. Parents die, orphaning their children, who then also die of the disease. Treatments are experimental and costly.
Perhaps worst of all is the stigma surrounding the disease and the myths that frightened people have concocted. It is spread through bodily fluids, NOT casual contact; any sort of sexual contact is risky, but shakign hands is not.People with HIV/AIDS are sometimes treated as lepers. There is a belief that having sex with a virgin will cure AIDS, leading to brutal rapes of children, to no purpose. Many people deny that the disease exists, or its severity. As a result, funding for research and medications is lacking in many places around the world.
Keep asking questions!

it kills the T cells you have that.. T cells are what fights infections off.. thats why when people die of aids its not the aids that kills them its the infections and things they get. yes they die due to no cure but there are things out there that are better then they were in the past that help keep you alive a little longer and better with less side effects. please always always wear protection with anyone.. and if 2 people care enough about each other both should be tested when dating.. life is short enough and i have not seen a penis i would die for yet. my step sister died of aids and it was one of the worse things i ever saw to me worse then cancer. and i lost my dad to cancer.. she got it because her hubby cheated on her.. so he said once but found out more then that.. and yes he died also. and then kids lost both parents.. so rememeber use protection because your life can depend on it.. good luck..

It will kill you. Slowly, and painfully, with many sicknesses that leave you progressively weaker, less able to stay well. The drugs might help you stay alive a bit longer, but they are expensive.
