No, but that can't be good. Pneumonia is caused by bacteria that collects in your lungs, and if you don't have the "bug", you can't get pneumonia.

But I have heard of people having bad respiratory reactions to sudden changes between hot and cold, especially after hard exercise.

Yes and No. Pneumonia is caused by either bacteria, viral, or fungus. Indirectly the answer is yes, because it is thought that your body has lower defenses at colder temperatures, making you more susceptible or likely to get pneumonia. People with lowered immune system function can also get pneumonia easily, for example elderly, hiv positive, and patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapies to name a few.

Not exactly. Pneumonia is caused by bacteria or viruses, not cold. But, being exposed to cold like that can weaken your immune system, making you more likely to catch a cold afterward,if you are exposed to the cold virus, or to pneumonia causing microbes.

No. Same thing as the cold or flu. You do not get it from being cold....when you are cold your immune system is down, therefore it is harder to fight the virus that comes in contact with you. You get sick when the immune system is down, and normally it could fight the virus it faster.

Yup, hot food like soup and oatmeal in the cold weather. I make bread too. Makes the house smell amazing.

A doctor I know says no--so did a text book--but I don't buy it.

Even if they are right, something bad is bound to happen to you healthwise if you run in low temps with minimum clothing at night.

Yes, you can, you could die if it was severe enough.
