Condoms are not 100% effective against pregnancy or STDs which includes HIV. Anyone who believes it does needs a serious lesson in sex education. Which is more than half the population. This is why sexual diseases and pregnancy are always on the rise.

A condom only covers the shaft of the penis. Open wounds, sores and membranes can exist in other areas of the genitals and body. When making contact with another person's open spores, this will exchange body fluids and that is how diseases are transmitted.

No, condoms do not protect against HIV or anything else for that matter. What condoms do is lessen the risk of getting HIV or anything else. Condoms do not have a 100% guaranty of protecting you from anything. The reason condoms do not protect against HIV is because HIV is not only transmitted sexually, it is in the blood of the person who is HIV+

Studies have shown that latex condoms are highly effective in preventing HIV transmission when used consistently and correctly. These studies looked at uninfected people considered to be at very high risk of infection because they were involved in sexual relationships with HIV-infected people. The studies found that even with repeated sexual contact, 98-100 percent of those people who used latex condoms correctly and consistently did not become infected.

I can GUARANTEE you that condoms do NOT prevent HIV. It is a safer way to protect yourself if you use condoms... but they do not protect you from HIV. They just help keep you safer than without a condom.
