My friend works at a hospital and a patient who has hiv got blood on her hand. She was given some shot to boost her immunity against the virus. she was tested 3 wks, 3 months, and now 9 months later. all were negative. do you think she's going to be ok? also she didn't have any open cuts on her hand that were visible.

More likely for healthcare workers to get hep B virus than HIV thru needlesticks. It doesn't sound like she had a needlestick wound and if she had no open cuts or sores on her hands it would be even harder for it to infect her.

The tests commonly used to detect HIV infection actually look for antibodies produced by your body to fight HIV. Most people will develop detectable antibodies within 3 months after infection, the average being 25 days. In rare cases, it can take up to 6 months.
Since your friend has tested negative for 9 months, she needn't worry.

She should be fine. I hope she knows enough to wear gloves now whenever she is in contact with someone who might spill or leak body fluids especially blood.

She can't have HIV because she didn't have any cuts. No worries.
