It does happen. The spread very easily and quickly. Especially if the original person infected doesn't fix the problem. Wash all your things in hot water and use over the counter remedies, such as Rit. It could take a couple of weeks to completely get rid of them, but they will go away.

Anytime you have a lot of people living in a place like that, it can be easily spread. I was on the road years ago, touring with the blues review, and one of the guys sharing a room with me got the crabs from the motel bed sheets. He got it taken care of before it got out of control, but you just need to watch it.

i lived in a dormitory for four years...body lice is uncommon...it just depends on how you keep the cleanliness of your area.

No. People tend to be unthruthful out of embarrassment because they wer with some skank. Or they are just slovely too. They are hard to deal with but once you wash all the bedding and stuff your half way there then just keep a good eye out. Some people are gross and let them fester. Id move out of that area. GOod Luck
