I would say no. Its naturally produced by the body in a non diabetic according to varying needs, injecting it according to needs is no different...except for the trauma the injection causes;

Insulin itself does not have a harsh effect on the body. However, in diabetics who take too much insulin and have low blood sugar there can be some effects on the body. People who are hypoglycemic may feel palpitations, become dizzy, sweaty, and confused, if it is not treated people can die. However, this conditon is normally easily treated with some form of glucose (liquids are better than solids in the conscious patient, and don't use chocolate or fatty sugars).
With that said, in the long term sense, not having enough insulin is far more detrimental to a person's health than having hypoglycemia that IS TREATED. I hope this helps.

Insulin is required to make the body function correctly. Man made Insulin can cause a reaction in some Diabetics. Insulin is made from a DNA process which is a Human DNA process so the body accepts it with out much conflict. If your having Itching or blotches on your skin, contact your Doctor to see if they can determine a reaction encountered from the use of Insulin.
