One conatining codeine. However, you will need a prescription to purchase that.
Otherwise, Vicks44 or honey.
I haven't tried it but i hear, dark chocolate has a chemical in it that is a cough suppressant. but i wouldn't get my hopes up as to how well that works:

Dark Chocolate and Coughs
You’ve heard of DM cough syrups. How about DC cough remedies? DM is an abbreviation for an over-the-counter cough suppressant called dextromethorphan. What is DC? It’s the nickname given by members of the DrGreene.com community to dark chocolate. Codeine is stronger against coughs than DM. Could DC be even more effective? And if so, how much chocolate would it take? Research published in the The FASEB Journal in February 2005 makes a strong case that dark chocolate can be a powerful cough suppressant. FASEB is the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology, a coalition of biomedical and life scientists committed to enhancing life through solid scientific research. This is a mainline technical scientific group, not a wishful thinking group. They first published some of the results on chocolate and cough online on November 17, 2004 in FJ Express

An ingredient in chocolate may actually be a more effective cough medicine than traditional remedies, a new study suggests.

And not only that, the UK-based research showed that the cocoa-derived compound had none of the side effects associated with standard drug treatments for persistent coughs.

“These sorts of coughs, often lasting for weeks after a viral infection, can be difficult to treat, especially since it is not possible to give large doses of opiate-based medication to patients due to the side effects,” says Peter Barnes, professor of thoracic medicine at Imperial College London, UK, who led the study.

Barnes and colleagues gave 10 healthy volunteers tablets containing: theobromine, a constituent of cocoa or; codeine, the cough suppressant against which other drugs are measured or; a placebo.

The volunteers were then asked to inhale a gas containing capsaicin - a derivative of chilli peppers - which induces coughing and is used as an indicator to test the effectiveness of cough medicines.

i was told by my local chemists that nothing helps a cough go away, you can only help ease it with lozenges or honey drinks. basically you have to let the cough get better. the paracetol that the cough mixture contains is the most effective thing in it so just take some paracetomol and keep your chest covered up and stay warm.

if your coughing is causing a sore chest it could be caused by a bronchitis infection or worse pheomonia. See a doctor to be certain what the cause of the infection. If you are coughing longer than 5 days see a doctor.

unfortunately most cough medicines dont actually work and we spent millions on them. if u are bringing up green/yellow stuff u have an infection and need to c a doctor. otherwise lots of rest, drink lots of water and honey with lemon and hot water with a little sugar is great. ( half cup of hot water, 2 teaspoons honey, juice of half lemon and sugar to taste) hope u better soon
